Tutoring for Mild Dyscalculia

Educators who are familiar with dyscalculia can encourage students to develop their math skills. In the classroom, students may benefit from frequent reviews of concepts, solving problems with real world applications or following techniques to break down complex problems. Dyscalculia tutoring instruction will be paced to the student’s unique needs. Both Beekman and the Tutoring School have opportunities for students who are challenged when learning and retaining math skills. We work closely with students and parents to find the best approaches to addressing mild dyscalculia. In some cases, we may recommend remedial instruction, a modified curriculum or testing accommodations to help a student progress.

Support for Dyscalculia Learning Strategies

At Beekman, we empower students to learn math. We offer small classes staffed by experienced educators. They are responsive to the needs of those who could benefit from dyscalculia support. We also have the dyscalculia tutors and educational resources to guide young people in properly managing classwork, homework, quizzes and tests. We’re prepared to help students with mild learning disabilities related to mathematics education, whether that involves providing one-on-one instruction or offering methods to reduce math anxiety.

We have transitioned entirely to live online learning while New York City school buildings are closed.
